Swiss Investment in Ukraine in 2019

The Swiss Confederation is among the five leading investing countries in the Ukraine’s economy. As of January 1, 2020, Swiss investments amounted to USD 1.715 billion, which is 4.8% of the total FDI stock in Ukraine. The amount includes both investments of actual Swiss companies operating in Ukraine and investments of some Ukrainian companies headquartered in Switzerland (e.g. ore mining company Ferrexpo).
In 2019, Swiss investments grew by USD 163 million, or 10.5%.
The biggest sectors of Swiss investment are: industry and financial and insurance activities.

Several world-famous Swiss enterprises operate in Ukraine including: Nestle SA, Philip Morris International, Geberit International AG, Sika AG, Risoil S.A. (Switzerland / Georgia), Syngenta AG (China/ Switzerland), Glas Trösch AG, Acino AG, etc.
The largest investment projects recently implemented or announced by Swiss companies in Ukraine are as follows:

Infrastructure	12	In June 2020, the Company signed agreement for the concession of the Kherson Sea Commercial Port – the first marine concession in the history of Ukraine's independence. The Company is expected to invest 300 million hryvnias (approx. $12 million) in the development of the port and the infrastructure of the city and the region in the next three years.
