President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a meeting with Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office to the Trilateral Contact Group on the implementation of the peace plan in the East of Ukraine Heidi Tagliavini.

Petro Poroshenko noted the important role of the Trilateral Contact Group and expressed hope that Heidi Tagliavini would continue her important work despite the completion of Switzerland's chairmanship in the OSCE. At the same time, the President emphasized that the session of the Trilateral Contact Group had to be held as soon as possible in order to achieve the ceasefire already on December 9.

The Special Representative informed on the intention to continue her work in the Trilateral Contact Group. Heidi Tagliavini emphasized that the Minsk protocol of September 5 and the Memorandum of September 19, 2014 were the basis for the peaceful resolution of the situation in the Donbas and had to be fulfilled by all the parties.

Petro Poroshenko and Heidi Tagliavini agreed on further coordination of actions on the implementation of the peace plan in the Donbas.
