Today we celebrate World Children’s Day — a reminder to the States Parties to the 1959 Convention on the Rights of the Child of their urgent obligation to guarantee the protection of every child’s rights and freedoms, and to work tirelessly toward their full realization.
Unfortunately, many of these rights have been gravely violated by Russia. Ukrainian children experience fear and danger every day, deprived of the chance to live and grow up without worry. Those who have found temporary refuge abroad often cannot return home — because sometimes there is no home anymore, nor the city where they once laughed and played.
We express our sincere gratitude to the Swiss Confederation and the Principality of Liechtenstein for their support, compassion, and helping hand during this difficult time for Ukraine. Your attention to our children is not merely a gesture of solidarity — it is an investment in their future.
These wonderful dolls were created by the young talents of the “Wings of Hope” children’s home, which used to be located in Mariupol and has now found shelter here in Switzerland. Each one is a small story — a warm ray of a child’s soul that has endured despite the darkness.
Let us build together a future in which children hear only laughter, joy, and happy stories.
