Citizens of specified countries can apply for electronic visas (e-Visa) to enter Ukraine.

Transit (B type)

B-type visas are issued in cases where a foreigner/stateless person intends to transit through the territory of Ukraine and each transit period does not exceed 5 days. B-type visas are issued as single, double or multiple entry visas. 

Short-term stay (C type)

C-type visas are issued in cases where a foreigner/stateless person intends to stay in Ukraine for up to 90 days within every 180 days. C type visas are issued as single, double or multiple entry visas.

Long-term stay (D type)

D-type visas are issued in cases where a foreigner/stateless person intends to apply for a temporary residence permit to stay in Ukraine for more than 90 days. D type visas are issued as multiple entry visas valid for 90 days.

Applicants may apply for a visa no earlier than 3 months before the planned date of entry to Ukraine as follows:

1. Holders of passports from specified countries can apply for the electronic visa (e-Visa). Please use the link (e-Visa) for necessary information.
2. To register, fill in, print out and sign the visa application for the relevant embassy at https://visa.mfa.gov.ua/. You can choose an appointment during the registration process and visit the embassy at this time with all the required documents.

The Embassy charges CHF 64.00 (basic fee) for the regular processing of visa applications. Fees for all applications upon expedited processing are doubled.

Visa fees for certain visa types for applicants from certain countries may differ from the basic visa fee due to the Principle of reciprocity.

If the visa application is rejected, the Embassy will not refund any fee.

The processing takes up to 10 business days from the day of submitting application and paying the visa fee. The processing time may be extended for up to 30 business days if additional checks and clarifications are required.

On June 4, 2015 the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted the Resolution № 367 “Procedure for entry to the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and exit from it”

Entry/exit of foreigners and stateless persons to/from the Autonomous Republic of Crimea is only permitted via regular Ukrainian border crossing and the checkpoints set up for this purpose. A special permit is required. Details can be found on the website of the State Migration Service of Ukraine.

Any other entry into Crimea (e.g. via Russia) without first passing a Ukrainian border crossing and checkpoints set up for this purpose, will be prosecuted.

Travelers who have traveled to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea via other routes than Ukrainian border crossings must therefore expect the prosecution for illegally staying in Ukraine when they the next time visit the country.
