On August 21, Ambassador of Ukraine Iryna Venediktova held a meeting with the President of the University of Zurich, Professor Dr. Michael Shepman.

During the conversation, the Ambassador highly appreciated the solidarity of Swiss universities and higher schools with Ukraine, in particular the University of Zurich, and thanked for the support of Ukrainian students, teachers and researchers who found temporary protection from the horrors of war in Switzerland and the opportunity to continue their studies and research activities.

The parties paid special attention to the potential for further expansion of bilateral cooperation between the academic communities of both countries in the field of education and research.

The parties positively noted the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Swiss National Science Foundation and the National Research Foundation of Ukraine regarding bilateral cooperation.

In the end, an agreement was reached regarding further joint efforts to develop the interaction of the University of Zurich with Ukrainian partners.
