On August 22, 2023, Ambassador of Ukraine Iryna Venediktova met with the Head of the Department of International Relations of the Parliamentary Services of the Federal Assembly, Ambassador Claudio Fischer.

During the meeting, Iryna Venediktova, together with the Chargé d'Affaires of the Czech Republic in Switzerland Marketa Faymonova, handed over the originals of the joint invitations of the Speakers of the Parliaments of Ukraine and the Czech Republic, addressed to the Presidents of both Chambers of the Parliament of Switzerland with an invitation to participate in the Second Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimean Platform, which will be held on October 24, 2023 in Prague.

The Ambassador of Ukraine noted that this event is designed to consolidate national parliaments around the goals and objectives of the International Crimean Platform and promote unity in the protection of international law and the restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity.

The Ambassador Claudio Fischer, in turn, confirmed Switzerland's commitment to democratic values and expressed Switzerland's full support for the sovereignty of Ukraine and the activities of the International Crimean Platform. The representative of the Parliament confirmed that the Swiss Parliament will be represented at the event at the highest possible level.

Iryna Venediktova thanked the Swiss side for supporting Ukraine and expressed hope for the continuation of the fruitful Ukrainian-Swiss interparliamentary dialogue as an important component of the parliamentary dimension of international support for Ukraine to defeat the aggressor.
