The Ambassador of Ukraine to the Swiss Confederation, Iryna Venediktova, participated in the 5th IC Forum, which took place on February 26–27, 2026, at the International Conference Centre Geneva (CICG). The event served as an important international platform for discussing global transformations in the field of humanitarian assistance, enhancing rapid response mechanisms, and introducing innovative solutions to address contemporary challenges.
Ukraine’s participation in these discussions is of particular importance, as humanitarian demining and strengthening civil protection capacities remain among the key priorities of our state amid the ongoing Russian aggression.
Sincere gratitude is extended to Martin Pfister, Head of the Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport of Switzerland, as well as to Patricia Danzi, Director General of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, for their effective support of humanitarian demining projects and the strengthening of the capacities of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
In his remarks, Martin Pfister specifically referred to Russia’s war against Ukraine and emphasized the importance of strengthening national security in the face of the hybrid war Russia is waging in Europe. It was stressed that today’s challenges require enhanced defence capabilities for Switzerland and close international coordination.
Switzerland’s practical assistance and solidarity deliver tangible results on the ground — saving lives, restoring safety to communities, and contributing to Ukraine’s recovery.
Ukraine highly values its partnership with Switzerland and the support of the international community.
