On February 27, the Embassy of Ukraine took part in the opening of the spring session of the National Council of the Federal Assembly of Switzerland, which began with a moment of silence in memory of those who died because of Russia's full-scale aggression against our country a year ago.
The solidarity of the Swiss Confederation, a neutral country that has not remained indifferent, continues to play an important role for us.
Today's realities of Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine indicate that the progressive forces of Europe must increasingly unite for the victory of good over evil, light over darkness, and truth over lies.
We welcome the work initiated by the Federal Assembly to simplify the re-export of Swiss-made weapons and military equipment, and to close existing gaps in the sanctions mechanisms. We count on the support of the Action Plan for the spring period approved by the Federal Council of Switzerland on February 22, 2023, which provides for the allocation of an additional 114 million Swiss francs for humanitarian demining, protective structures for educational institutions, repair of health care facilities, energy infrastructure, lending to small and medium-sized businesses in the agricultural sector, search for missing persons and psychological and social support of our citizens.
