As part of the visit, a meeting was held with the Director of the International Security Division of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Gabriel Lüchinger. The parties discussed key areas of cooperation and international efforts aimed at deterring Russian aggression and restoring a just peace.

Andriy Yermak also held talks with Guy Parmelin, Vice President of the Swiss Confederation for 2025, Federal Councillor and Minister of Economic Affairs. During the meeting, the parties reviewed the current situation at the front and ways to increase pressure on Russia in order to bring it to genuine peace negotiations.

The Ukrainian side expressed gratitude to Switzerland for its large-scale humanitarian and financial support, which has amounted to nearly 1.5 billion US dollars since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. The particular importance of the bilateral Memorandum on involving the Swiss private sector in Ukraine’s reconstruction was noted; within its framework, 12 companies have already been selected to implement key projects in the fields of transport, education, and healthcare.

An important element of the meetings was the development of international initiatives aimed at achieving sustainable peace in Europe, taking into account the results of the 2024 Global Peace Summit.

Separately, the Head of the Office of the President called on the Swiss side to strengthen coordination to return Ukrainian children illegally taken to Russia.

Ukraine highly values the consistent support and solidarity of the Swiss Confederation in the struggle for our freedom and sovereignty.
