On November 5, 2025, the conference “First Steps in the Swiss Labor Market” took place in the city of Liestal. The event was organized with the participation of representatives from the cantons of Basel-Landschaft and Basel-Stadt, Ukrainian public organizations, and partner institutions.

The Ambassador of Ukraine to the Swiss Confederation, Iryna Venediktova, took part in the event and delivered a welcoming address to the conference participants.

During the conference, participants discussed the specifics of employment in the local labor market and focused on new opportunities arising from recent changes in Swiss legislation.

Special attention was given to the role of local public organizations that help newcomers adapt, acquire new skills, and find employment.

The conference also addressed issues of interregional cooperation, support for Ukrainian families, maintaining ties with the homeland, and developing partnership relations between Ukraine and Switzerland.

The Ambassador expressed gratitude to the conference organizers and partners for their continued support of Ukrainian citizens.
