On 2 November, the Diplomatic Corps Information Day with the Government of the Principality of Liechtenstein took place, focusing on current global challenges, growing international instability and economic governance in times of uncertainty.
The event was attended by Brigitte Haas, Prime Minister and Minister of General Government Affairs and Finance; Sabine Monauni, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Environment and Culture; Hubert Büchel, Minister of Home Affairs, Economy and Sport; as well as representatives of Liechtenstein's business community.
The Liechtenstein side emphasised that, in an increasingly uncertain global environment, strengthening the international rules-based order, protecting human rights, promoting international solidarity and building reliable partnerships with other countries are essential to ensuring stability and sustainable development.
Among the economic policy priorities highlighted were the removal of trade barriers and the further development of the legal framework within the European Free Trade Association (EFTA).
Representatives of the business and banking sectors, in turn, stressed the importance of investing in innovation, adopting new technologies and strengthening cybersecurity as key factors in economic resilience and competitiveness.
The event provided an important opportunity to exchange views and strengthen dialogue between the diplomatic corps accredited to the Principality of Liechtenstein, government representatives and members of the business community on current international challenges, support for Ukraine and joint efforts towards achieving a just and sustainable peace in Europe.
