On 31 October, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Swiss Confederation Iryna Venediktova visited a holiday camp for Ukrainian children in Flüeli-Ranft.
The camp is hosting 20 children from Ukraine, giving them an opportunity to spend time in a safe and welcoming environment, enjoy a well-deserved break and regain their strength away from the realities of war. The initiative was organised with the support of Caritas-Spes Ukraine and Malteser Hospitaldienst Schweiz.
During her visit, the Ambassador met with the children and camp organisers, emphasised the importance of such initiatives for the psychological recovery and well-being of Ukrainian children, and expressed her gratitude to everyone involved in making the camp possible.
The Embassy of Ukraine extends its sincere gratitude to the organisers and the people of the Canton of Obwalden for their solidarity, hospitality, compassion and comprehensive support for Ukrainian children.
Initiatives like this are an important expression of Swiss solidarity with Ukraine and demonstrate genuine care for the future of the younger Ukrainian generation. Providing children with a place where they can experience safety, warmth and support is particularly important in the face of Russia’s ongoing aggression.
