On March 4, a peaceful demonstration in support of Ukraine "Stand with Ukraine" took place in Bern.

Representatives of political parties, non-governmental Swiss and Ukrainian organizations, and the local population demanded even greater and active support for Ukraine from the Swiss government.

A walk with a 30-meter blue-yellow flag of Ukraine took place in the central part of the city and ended on the country's main square in front of the Federal Parliament.

Deputies Christa Markwalder, Tiana Angelina Moser, Natalie Imboden, Cedric Wermuth emphasized during their speeches that the war affects everyone, because it is 2500 km away; Switzerland cannot remain neutral when people die every day and Russian shelling continues; the courage and bravery of Ukrainians is impressive; Ukraine is fighting for European values and Switzerland must constantly make its contribution; the need to create proper conditions for the stay of Ukrainians in Switzerland while the war continues.

The deputies also called on the parliament to recognize the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine as a genocide against the Ukrainian people, which continues today, and to allow the re-export of weapons from third countries to Ukraine.

Ambassador of Ukraine Iryna Venediktova confirmed that Ukraine would do everything to ensure that Ukrainians return home as soon as possible and start building a European, safe and happy country.
