On 1 October 2026, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Swiss Confederation Iryna Venediktova met with Zurich Mayor Raphael Golta.

The meeting focused on current issues in Ukrainian-Swiss cooperation, the support provided to Ukraine by the City of Zurich, and prospects for further developing partnership initiatives at the municipal level.

Iryna Venediktova briefed the mayor on the security and humanitarian situation in Ukraine, emphasising the importance of continued international support for the Ukrainian people. Particular attention was paid to the involvement of Swiss partners in strengthening and rebuilding Ukraine’s infrastructure.

The Ambassador expressed her gratitude to the City of Zurich for its solidarity with Ukraine and its support for Ukrainian citizens residing in Switzerland under temporary protection status S. She also acknowledged the humanitarian assistance provided to Ukraine by Swiss partners.

Both sides reaffirmed their interest in further developing cooperation and implementing joint initiatives aimed at supporting Ukrainians and contributing to Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction.
