On 9 October 2026, World Post Day, Ambassador of Ukraine to Switzerland Iryna Venediktova attended the award ceremony held at the headquarters of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) in Bern.

Ukrposhta received the “Regional Champion in Postal Development 2026” award as part of the Universal Postal Union’s international initiative to advance postal sector development.

The award was presented to Ihor Smilianskyi, CEO of JSC Ukrposhta, by Masahiko Metoki, Director General of the Universal Postal Union.

This international recognition is a testament to the resilience, professionalism and dedication of Ukrainian postal workers, who continue to maintain postal services, deliver letters and parcels, support communities and provide vital services to the public despite Russia’s full-scale war of aggression against Ukraine.

We warmly congratulate the entire Ukrposhta team on this well-deserved award and thank every Ukrainian postal worker for their daily efforts, courage and unwavering commitment!
