The 76th Locarno Film Festival will take place from August 2nd to 12th. It is one of the oldest festivals after Venice and Cannes.
350 performances and 110 world premieres will be shown during 11 days. This year, the Ukrainian film “Stepne” by producer Maryna Vroda will be presented at the film festival for the first time. There are 17 other films in this category.
In the conditions of a full-scale and barbaric war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, Ukraine's voice on international platforms is very important.
“Thanks to the cinema, we are strengthening the opportunities of Ukrainian culture to communicate with the world. Ukraine is flourishing, as is Ukrainian art and Ukrainian cinematography,” said Counselor Samvel Arustamian during the press conference ahead of the film's premiere and speaking to guests after the screening.
Special thanks to the organizers of the festival for the support and solidarity with Ukraine.
We thank the creative team of "Stepne" for their commitment and wish them victory!
