On 26 January 2026, an official ceremony was held for the signing of two memorandums of understanding between the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of Switzerland, JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia,” and the Swiss companies Arthur Flury AG and Schwihag AG regarding the implementation of projects aimed at supporting and developing Ukraine’s railway infrastructure.
On behalf of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), the documents were signed by the Special Envoy of the Swiss Federal Council for Ukraine’s reconstruction, Ambassador Jacques Herber, who confirmed Switzerland’s principled commitment to providing comprehensive assistance in the restoration and development of Ukrainian infrastructure.
The signing of the memorandums marks the transition to the practical implementation of projects that were competitively selected following the First Competition of Reconstruction Projects in Ukraine, with the participation of the Swiss private sector.
The event represented another important step in deepening Ukrainian-Swiss cooperation in the field of critical infrastructure, particularly in the context of restoring, modernizing, and ensuring the stable operation of Ukraine’s railway transport.
