The Ambassador Iryna Venediktova visited canton Vaud, where two children's homes from Ukraine found shelter under one roof. When the orphanage was evacuated from Kamianske to Switzerland, the youngest girl was only six months old.
Together with the Kamianske orphanage, the children of the Mariupol center live here, which was destroyed by enemy attacks. Now these children attend a school in Switzerland, learn French and take Ukrainian online classes. Some of the children from Mariupol were housed in canton Wallis. But the staff makes sure the kids keep in touch with each other.
The children have been in Switzerland with their teachers for a year.
Russian aggression is large, aggressive and aimed at children. The attacker commits a real genocide against the Ukrainians.
The Ambassador thanked representatives of the canton, local authorities, doctors and volunteers for creating safe and comfortable conditions for our children.
