It has been two years since Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. The Kremlin wanted to finally destroy the Ukrainian state and identity by military means. This barbaric attack dealt a blow to the entire international legal order, undermined the stability of Europe and global security in general.
Thousands of Ukrainians and friends of Ukraine marched in solidarity in the cities of Switzerland. Representatives of the Swiss Parliament, the local mayor's office, non-governmental public organizations and the diplomatic corps came to support us.
In her speech at the Bundesplatz in Bern, Ambassador Iryna Venediktova emphasized that the war has been going on for exactly 10 years and Ukrainians are paying a high price for the protection of European democratic values. Bucha, Irpin, Gostomel, Mariupol, Izyum, Severodonetsk, Bakhmut, Kakhovka, Maryinka, Avdiyivka - symbolize countless crimes against humanity and the environment.
Two years of destruction, pain, losses and two years of stability, unity, mutual aid and humanity. We persevered - we will win.
Today, we continue to restrain the aggressor on the military, diplomatic, and informational fronts. We will make every effort to rebuild our country, provide a bright future for our children, and punish the aggressor.
