Ambassador Iryna Venediktova held a meeting with professors of East European history Yulia Richers, Katrin Bente Karl and associate professors Carmen Scheide and Natalia Kovtun of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Bern.

In the course of the conversation, the professors of the university familiarized themselves with the establishment and functioning of Ukrainian studies at the university.

From autumn 2023, foreign students have the opportunity to study the Ukrainian language for three years. The course also includes studying the history and politics of Ukraine.

In the conditions of Russian aggression, it is extremely important for foreign audiences and students to understand and realize the difference between Ukrainian and Russian. In addition, this staff of teachers makes maximum efforts to identify the Ukrainian language, culture and history.

Since Swiss students are increasingly interested in studying the history and culture of Ukraine, we hope that in the future, there will be more and more qualified experts in Eastern European history.

Future cooperation in research projects between Ukrainian and Swiss scientists was agreed upon.
