During the protocol visit to the canton of Basel-Land, the Ambassador Iryna Venediktova met with members of the newly elected cantonal government headed by President Monika Gschwindt.
The leadership of the canton condemns Russia's military aggression against Ukraine and plans to continue to support our citizens who have found temporary shelter here in every possible way.
Canton Basel-Land pays special attention to the issue of access to education for Ukrainian children and tries to organize the learning process for more than 500 of our children in local schools as comfortably and efficiently as possible.
During the meeting, the possibilities of bilateral cooperation at the regional level and the implementation of projects in the humanitarian and cultural spheres were discussed. Canton Basel-Land, which claims world leadership in the field of Life Sciences, is interesting for Ukraine as a reliable partner for cooperation in the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceutical industry and medical technology.
The Ambassador Iryna Venediktova also visited the Cantonal Library of Basel and the Basel Art Museum, as well as met with Ukrainians. Cooperation with Ukrainians abroad and their associations is extremely important for the implementation of Ukrainian projects on the territory of Switzerland.
