04 March 2025 20:05

On March 4, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha, together with First Lady Olena Zelenska, held a meeting in Lviv with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Education, and Sports of the Principality of Liechtenstein, Dominique Hasler, as part of her working visit to Ukraine.

The parties discussed key issues of bilateral cooperation and further joint steps in the areas of international law protection, sanctions policy, Ukraine’s economic recovery, and humanitarian support.

The ministers paid special attention to the implementation of humanitarian projects in Ukraine. In this context, Andriy Sybiha and Dominique Hasler, together with First Lady Olena Zelenska, participated in the opening of the “School of Superheroes” in Lviv.

This institution was established with the support of the Olena Zelenska Foundation and the Government of the Principality of Liechtenstein, which allocated 250000 Swiss francs for the project.

The Minister expressed gratitude for Liechtenstein’s financial contribution to the construction of family-type homes for affected families in Ukraine and for supporting Ukrainians who were forced to seek refuge abroad due to Russian aggression.

“In particular, this includes the construction of family-type homes in Poltava and Fastiv, as well as the creation of five modern educational spaces under the ‘School of Superheroes’ initiative. Today, the ties between our countries are strong, and we strive to continue strengthening them for the sake of a just, comprehensive, and sustainable peace,” emphasized Andriy Sybiha.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine thanked Liechtenstein for its active role in establishing a Special Tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine and for its support in developing a Register of Damages caused by Russian aggression.

The Minister also highly appreciated the decision of the Liechtenstein Parliament to allocate 8 million Swiss francs for Ukraine’s reconstruction from 2025 to 2029, as well as 800000 Swiss francs to support EBRD projects for the Ukrainian economy.

Andriy Sybiha expressed deep gratitude to Liechtenstein for its efforts in returning deported Ukrainian children, supporting sanctions pressure on the aggressor, providing political and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, and facilitating humanitarian demining efforts.
