On 16 February 2026, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Swiss Confederation, Iryna Venediktova, held a meeting with the Head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Mission in Ukraine, Robert Turner, during his visit to Switzerland.
The Ukrainian side expressed sincere gratitude to IOM for its consistent support and solidarity with the Ukrainian people and emphasized the importance of consolidating international efforts to overcome the consequences of the war and rebuild Ukraine.
Robert Turner briefed on the organization’s current humanitarian activities in Ukrainian regions and the implementation of a number of initiatives carried out with the involvement of international partners and the Government of Ukraine aimed at assisting internally displaced persons, war veterans, affected families, as well as communities that have suffered destruction and losses as a result of hostilities and shelling.
Importantly, this work includes both urgent humanitarian assistance and long-term programmes for the restoration of critical infrastructure, psychosocial support, and strengthening the capacity of local communities.
The Ambassador noted the organization’s significant contribution to supporting Ukraine amid the ongoing full-scale Russian armed aggression.
The interlocutors stressed that comprehensive partnership with international organizations remains an integral element in strengthening Ukraine’s resilience and agreed on further steps to enhance cooperation.
