On May 9, the Yehudi Menuhin Forum Bern hosted the concert “Ukraine and Odesa on Europe Day” — a cultural event that became a symbol of unity.
Ambassador Iryna Venediktova thanked Switzerland and Europe for their tireless support for Ukraine in the fight against the aggressor and emphasized that the Ukrainian people have long proven that our country is part of Europe.
The evening was attended by honored guests: EU Ambassador Petros Mavromichalis, Mayor of Bern Marieke Kruit, and other representatives of the diplomatic corps.
The singing of the IvAlive children's choir from Lausanne presented sincerity, light, and hope that only children can convey with their voices.
The Bandura Trio “MALVY” from Odessa immersed the audience in the sounds of the traditional Ukrainian bandura — an instrument that carries the voice of the Ukrainian soul.
And the Ukrainian choir “Pisnosspiwy” from Basel presented the depth and beauty of the Ukrainian song tradition, which resonates far beyond the borders of our Motherland.
The concert participants, guests, diplomats and locals together created an atmosphere of mutual support.
Ukrainian culture is able to speak louder than politics, erase borders and strengthen ties between peoples.
Thank you to everyone who was with us today!
