On 25 January 2026, representatives of the Embassy of Ukraine in Switzerland took part in the solemn Divine Liturgy held on the occasion of the first pastoral visit of Bishop Ihor Rantsya to Switzerland.

The service took place at the Church of Our Lady in Zurich and brought together members of the Ukrainian community as well as representatives of churches and civil society in Switzerland.

The celebration highlighted the important role of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church as a spiritual pillar of the Ukrainian community abroad, particularly in the context of Russia’s ongoing war of aggression against Ukraine.

“Prayer, unity, and mutual support are what give us strength and bring a just peace closer,” emphasized a Ukrainian diplomat.

The Embassy of Ukraine expresses its sincere gratitude to the church community and Swiss partners for their solidarity, support for Ukraine, and joint prayers for a just and lasting peace.
