On September 8, 2023, Ambassador of Ukraine Iryna Venediktova held a meeting with the leadership of the Association of Higher Education Institutions of Switzerland: Association President Luciana Vaccaro and General Secretary Martina Weiss.

The Ambassador thanked Swiss universities and institutes for their solidarity with Ukraine and thanked them for their support of 950 Ukrainian students and more than 150 researchers who found in Switzerland temporary protection from the horrors of war and the opportunity to continue their studies and research activities.

Particular attention was paid to the potential for further expansion of bilateral cooperation between the academic communities of both countries in the field of education and research, including dialogue at the level of the relevant departments of Ukraine and Switzerland.

In this context, attention was drawn to the possibilities of cooperation with the Union of Rectors of Ukrainian Higher Education Institutions and the significant potential of direct interaction between the universities of both countries, in particular, in the context of international efforts to rebuild Ukraine.
