On Monday, 20 July, Ambassador of Ukraine Iryna Venediktova visited the international training camp Sergei Judo Camp in Fiesch, where a group of young Ukrainian judokas is taking part in a week-long training programme.
Throughout the week, the athletes will train alongside their peers from different countries under the guidance of experienced coaches, further developing their skills and exchanging sporting experience.
The participation of the Ukrainian athletes is also part of the Olympic Dreams international sports camps project, which aims to provide young Ukrainians with opportunities for training, professional development, and international sporting exchange.
During her visit, the Ambassador also met with Sergei Aschwanden, President of the Swiss Judo & Ju-Jitsu Federation, as well as with the leadership of Sergei Judo Camp.
The Ambassador expressed her sincere gratitude for inviting the Ukrainian athletes, for the warm hospitality extended to them, and for the continued support for Ukraine. The parties also discussed prospects for further strengthening Ukrainian-Swiss cooperation in the field of sport.
The Embassy of Ukraine highly appreciates the initiative of Sergei Judo Camp, the personal commitment of Sergei Aschwanden, and the efforts of the organisers of the Olympic Dreams project in supporting young Ukrainian athletes. Such initiatives are an important expression of solidarity with Ukraine and contribute to strengthening ties between the Ukrainian and Swiss sporting communities.
