On 13 July 2026, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Swiss Confederation Iryna Venediktova participated in a lecture for a group of students enrolled in the American College Program at the University of Fribourg. The discussion also featured Krister Magnusson, Ambassador of Sweden to Switzerland, and Christian Schoenenberger, former Ambassador of Switzerland to Ukraine, Sweden, and Georgia.

The event included an open discussion on current issues in international relations, focusing on the role of diplomacy in today's world, international law, multilateral cooperation, international mediation, and the concept of neutrality in the contemporary international environment.

An integral part of the discussion was devoted to Ukraine and Russia's ongoing war of aggression against our country. Ambassador Venediktova addressed the application of international law in the context of Russia's armed aggression, the documentation and investigation of Russian war crimes, as well as international efforts to establish the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine and to ensure justice and accountability.

At the conclusion of the lecture, students had the opportunity to exchange views on today's global challenges, the role of diplomacy in addressing them, and the future of international cooperation.
