On 15–21 March 2026, a delegation of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, headed by Deputy Minister Viktoriia Riasna, paid a working visit to the Swiss Confederation (Magglingen/Macolin, Bern, Nottwil). During the visit, the delegation familiarized itself with the functioning of the Swiss sports development system, in particular the activities of the Federal Office of Sport (FOSPO) and the “Youth+Sport” (Y+S) programme, and held a number of meetings with representatives of relevant Swiss institutions.

In addition, the delegation met with the Director of FOSPO, S. Felix, who confirmed Switzerland’s readiness to contribute to the development of the sports sector in Ukraine. The discussions covered issues of governance and financing of sports, development of inclusive and adaptive sports, training of coaching staff, and implementation of good governance principles. The Ukrainian delegation also learned about the activities of the Swiss Olympic Committee and visited the Swiss Paraplegic Centre in Nottwil.

Following the visit, the parties agreed to maintain further working contacts and explore concrete areas of cooperation, including strengthening interaction in building civil society through multi-sport clubs, as well as promoting sport as a tool for reintegration. The Embassy of Ukraine in the Swiss Confederation will continue to facilitate the development of Ukrainian-Swiss cooperation in sports, strengthen institutional dialogue, and support the implementation of joint initiatives.
