A body that has contributed to the development of European values, the protection of human rights, democracy and the rule of law in Europe.

The body in which Liechtenstein has played an important role for exactly 45 years - since November 23, 1978.

The Embassy of Ukraine took part in a solemn event on the occasion of the beginning of Liechtenstein's presidency in the Council of Europe.

It is important that among the three key topics of the event, next to artificial intelligence and disinformation/fake news, the war against Ukraine was also chosen.

The discussions were attended by the Prime Minister of the Principality Daniel Risch, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Education and Sport of Liechtenstein Dominique Hasler, Professor of the Internet Institute of the University of Oxford Sandra Wachter, digital expert, author of publications and media journalist of the year (2021) Ingrid Broding and SRF correspondent in Ukraine, Journalist of the Year (2021) Lucia Chirki.

For Ukraine, cooperation within the framework of the Council of Europe is extremely important, especially in the conditions of Russian aggression.

Ukraine is grateful to the Council of Europe and its member states, in particular Liechtenstein, for supporting Ukraine in protecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Particularly valuable is the use of monitoring tools for documenting systematic violations of human rights by the Russian occupation authorities in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

The Action Plan of the Council of Europe for Ukraine "Sustainability. Restoration. Reconstruction" for 2023-2026", which supports our country in harmonizing legislation, reforming state institutions and applying the best European standards in the field of human rights, rule of law and democracy.

For Ukraine, such powerful support is the best proof of the faith of the international community and our partners in the future of Ukraine and our progress on the European path.
