As part of the colloquium of Eastern Europe of the Swiss Confederation of Trade Unions, the position of Ukraine regarding the tragic pages of the Holodomor history and their connection with the modern realities of Russia's anti-human policy in Ukraine and the world was highlighted.
Councilor Andrii Biriuchenko familiarized those present with the main components of the crime of genocide against the Ukrainian people, as well as its scale, caused by the purposeful actions of the top leadership of the Soviet Union to suppress the Ukrainian national liberation movement and physically destroy the Ukrainian identity.
Oleksandr Shubin, vice-president of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine, also spoke at the event, who familiarized the audience with the consequences of Russian aggression and the main tasks of the trade union movement of Ukraine to ensure the labor rights of our compatriots under martial law.
The participants of the event agreed that the tragic pages of history repeat themselves and have their continuation in Russian crimes in Bucha, Izyum, Mariupol and other Ukrainian cities and towns. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 108804 crimes of aggression and war crimes have been documented by the Ukrainian side.
During the discussion with the audience, the issues of bringing all Russian war criminals to justice, creating mechanisms to prevent the crime of aggression in the future, and unifying the efforts of the international community to rebuild our country were also raised.
We are confident that the Swiss Confederation of Trade Unions will be our reliable partner and play a significant role in this process.
