On 17 March 2026, a meeting took place at the Government building between the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Swiss Confederation, Iryna Venediktova, and the President of the Canton of Bern, Christoph Neuhaus, as well as the State Chancellor, Christoph Auer.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the current state of Ukrainian-Swiss cooperation, the role of Switzerland in supporting Ukraine, and opportunities for expanding cooperation at the regional level.

The Ambassador expressed her gratitude to the authorities of the Canton of Bern for their solidarity with Ukraine, as well as for the humanitarian assistance provided and support for Ukrainians residing in Switzerland.

Particular attention was given to prospects for involving Swiss businesses in Ukraine’s reconstruction, developing economic partnerships, and establishing direct contacts between regions.

The meeting was held in a constructive and friendly atmosphere, confirming the mutual interest in further strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and Switzerland.
