On 2 September, the closing event of the Red Cross Summer Camp took place in St. Gallen. The camp was organised by the Swiss Red Cross cantons of St. Gallen and Schaffhausen, with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Switzerland, for Ukrainian children and their families.

This year, the summer camp brought together 32 Ukrainian children aged 3 to 15, together with their mothers, giving them a safe space to rest, connect, play and simply enjoy being children.

Our sincere thanks go to the Swiss Red Cross, the organisers, partners and dozens of volunteers — Swiss and Ukrainian — who every day offered these families care, attention and warmth.

“Perhaps this is what true solidarity really means: not only speaking about Ukraine, but giving a Ukrainian child a happy day — and the feeling that even far from home, they have friends,” said a representative of the Embassy.
