On August 12, an important event took place in the Wipkingen church in Zurich: the ceremonial handover of the keys to the Kuhn Orgelbau organ, which is intended for the National House of Music in Kyiv. After the transfer, the organ will be dismantled and transported to Kyiv.
The event is of great cultural significance, as in three years the Ukrainian capital will once again receive a large concert organ. It is a vivid symbol of Ukraine's resilience and its desire to preserve and develop its cultural identity even in difficult times.
In his speech, Counselor of the Embassy of Ukraine Samvel Arustamyan emphasized the importance of this organ for Ukraine: "The appearance of this wonderful concert organ will not only restore the rich soundscape of Kyiv, but also restore it as a beacon of cultural expression and artistic excellence."
He added: “This event represents hope. It reminds us that despite the challenges of the ongoing Russian war, Ukraine continues to nurture its cultural landscape."
The handover of the organ is a sign of solidarity and cultural cooperation between Switzerland and Ukraine.
Many thanks to the Evangelical Reformed Parish of Zurich for this important gift.
